Thanks the support of Volvo Car Owner fellow after using our products, he bought a new car, V60 polestar this year, and came to our company immediately when he just got the car!
Total mileage is 44KM, because he came to KCDesign after he got the car in the afternoon.
Although the owner didn’t say he wanted to install front strut bar, we still prepared the high quality carbon front strut bar for him, and let him to decide whether to install or not.
Before we upgrade it, let’s check the picture of original chassis as below.
The chassis is as same as XC60 D5 AWD, even the holes, it belongs P3 chassis. Drive shaft and differential are enhanced for Polestar, they’re quite strong.
Part of exhaust pipe:
The diameter of exhaust pipe is as big as M-Benz 45 AMG, BMW M140 and M240i. Volume of downpipe is not really big, but the smelling is pungent, it belongs racing catalytic converter. The rear part is installed original double electronic valve that will be smooth when you was driving with high speed.
We found out that the overall acceleration of reaction and exhaust sound have achieve the level of modified exhaust pipe through the driving. The exhaust sound is strong and powerful, but you will hear exhaust resonance when you were driving about 20KM, Due to the exhaust pipe is too thick and the reduction of flow rate and less cover on silencer.
Therefore, we suggested owner to give up the idea of modifying middle and rear part, he just needs to exchange the downpipe which is faster catalytic converter. It makes the air move faster and reduce exhaust resonance.
Suspension system:
Polestar equipped Ohlins shock absorbers, it’s nice to restrain the vibration and close to the ground over 150KM. By my racing experience, there’s no problem to race with these equipment.
Although we felt the damping of rear wheel is too strong that pushes forward, but it could be ignore because we can adjust the shock absorbers.
Actually this driving experience has already fired many famous brand of shock absorbers, it has both support and comfort. The experience impressed me, so that it will be one of our product what we’re going to develop in the future.
Braking System:
Original factory equipped Brembo GT 6 level of braking system which is almost the best. Polestar has 367P horsepower and the weight is less than 1.8 ton, it's easy to handle with this braking system.
Braking system of Brembo is too tender for the people who likes to stop the car sharply. But it’s more suitable for everyone to control the power of braking through the depth that we step on the brake pedal.
For the racing car, the abnormal sound of braking is as charming as symphony.
To pair with 20 inches 245/35 ZR20 PSS tires of Michelin and AWD system, its tires grip and noises are restrained well.
Driving experience has shared, the important topic is coming as below.
Upgrading relative products of KCDesign:
Due to the car owner is our regular customer, so that we don’t need to introduce our products anymore, he bought chassis bars and rear sway bar directly, then he found out we have alloy turbo downpipe with T6 double turbochargers when we were chatting, therefore, he decided to install it at the meanwhile.
Consequently, it has been the first V60 Polestar which is upgraded with chassis bars, sway bar and alloy turbo downpipe.
The first step is modifying KCDesign rear sway bar which is 25mm.
Compare with Polestar rear sway bar, ours is thicker.
Against at rear sway bar, V60 Polestar has truly upgrading, the diameter achieves about 22.5mm, and it’s solid. (Normal S60/V60/XC60 is solid with 21.5mm, no matter whether is R-Design or not.)
By the way, front sway bar of V60 Polestar is solid with 24mm, but ours is solid with 26mm, so that they still have to improve themselves.
The stabilizer link is instead of double ball joint which can be rotated the entire circle.
Not the normal stabilizer which is single ball joint, it raises up the elasticity of rear wheels.
The rear sway bar has been upgraded!
The second step is upgrading chassis bars and alloy skid plate.

At the end of 2017, KC Design enhance the product line of alloy turbo downpipe for Volvo, therefore, we have stock for owner to purchase, even rare Drive-E T6 double pressure engine.
Otherwise, you don’t need to worry about lag of turbo and the reaction of acceleration is not enough, even the pipe breaking.

28th Feb updating: Increase rear sway bar.
After the owner using our product, he gave us high appraisal, and told us this car is more comfortable than his other car, V60 T5RD.
Why there’s no brands to produce Volvo front sway bar if you search the foreign net. Doesn’t the car need to be enhanced? Actually it needs.
Due to the original sway bar and shock absorbers of Polestar are enhanced products, we discussed the needs of owner first, through our product features, we will make sure whether the products are suitable for Ohlins shock absorbers of Polestar or not. As a result, the owner decided to install front sway bar on Polestar, if it’s not suitable, he can remove it to another car -> V60 T5 R-Design.
As we know, original front sway bar is solid with 24mm spring steel.
Ours is solid with 26mm spring steel, it must have the space to be enhanced.

It used to be hard before I modified it. After modification, it’s more flexible now. So amazing!
Every products should be matched before installing, especially the owners who had modified their shock absorbers. If you didn’t match our product well, it will lead to worse effect. Therefore, you’re welcome to discuss any problems before you modify your car.
